She’s Part Of The Swim Club, Rosemary Is: In this song, our Main Character is a teenager… and in the period notated by the grey section beneath the timeline of the Main Character’s life, he and his best friend make an almost nightly habit of getting stoned and sneaking into “a certain hotel” to use the indoor pool, hot tub, and steam room… as their own private swim club. They had been invited once by a friend of their’s who’s great aunt had paid a fee so she and her family could use the pool at will (without renting a room for the night) at any of the hotel’s thousands of locations worldwide. If he and his best friend were ever questioned by members of the hotel’s staff, they would give her name as being their great aunt. The friend who’s great aunt was actually Rosemary was skating on thing ice as it was using her name without her there. The Main Character and his friend continued to sneak in even after the friend, who was actually the great nephew of Rosemary, stopped going. One fateful night, the two friends were questioned by the staff, and used her name, only to find out that the swim club had been discontinued some time ago… and the police had been called. The staff member who questioned them was quite portly and no match for the speed of teenage boys. So, they grabbed their clothes and ran out the back door before the police arrived and ran to their awaiting car (the “beat up old heap”). They, being stoned, laughed all the way during the escape. Did they stop sneaking into hotels?… of course not, they simply started going to the next nearest location in the hotel’s chain. Who part?
