We Were The Hunted Then: The Main Character, whose sexual orientation is gay looks back at his life in midstream, in his mid thirties (Point B) and at the slow transformation of society’s acceptance of LGBTQ+ folks and at the sense of isolation he felt in high school (Point A) when things were different and the thought of being “out” seemed ludicrous, and seemed like it always would be. He is in awe of the transformation and growing acceptance, but still feels the scars and confusion of the road there. Though there were always people who saw it as the no big deal that it is, much of society, and consequently, its laws and attitudes made him feel under siege as he discovered his sexuality.
